Celebrate the summer before it's over with a backyard camping party!
Have your child invite all of their friends. If you have more than one tent, great. But, if you don't you will probably need to borrow one (depending on how many guests that you invite). Or you can purchase one.
Here are some more fun camping party ideas that you can use for a party, or even just enjoy with your family!
-
Decorate with rustic and natural items, such as, branches, small potted trees, burlap, raffia, crafting moss, red gingham table covers, red plaid fabrics, tin cans (empty cleaned soup cans) for flatware, etc...
-
Set up tents and an area for a campfire. Set up lawn chairs or wood benches around the firepit.
-
Set up a picnic table with a red gingham table cover.
-
Serve snake hot dogs, trail mix, bug juice, and campfire cupcakes. Set up a food table like this:

-
Hand out S'More treat bags, a compass, a bag of trail mix, and/or a mini flashlight for party favors
-
Hand out mason jars for catching fireflies in the evening- make sure they let them out again though!
-
Activities could include, making shadow creatures with your hands and a flashlight, stargazing, singing around the campfire, singing 'campfire' songs of yesterday, telling ghost stories, roasting marshmallows, plan a treasure hunt that they can use their compass', teach them how to whistle with a blade of grass.
