"All aboaaarrrrd" Is your child a fan of Thomas the train? Here are some ideas and party supplies for hosting a fun train party!
-
Make your own invitations! Using cardstock, train rubber stamp, train die cuts, or stickers, and colored pencils or markers...On front of card, stamp a train, draw smoke billowing out of the smoke stack using gray and black colored pencils. Write in "All Aboard!" in the clouds of smoke. Color in rest of train. Type, print from computer, or handwrite party information in the inside of the card. "Please join us for Andrew's Train party", "Board at station # (your address here)", "Arrival Time: (time party starts)", "Please contact the conductor at: (phone number)"
-
Using posterboard, draw and cut out the following: a railroad crossing sign, evergreen trees, and brown fencing...hang, or tape around room... Use masking tape to resemble train tracks...have them on the driveway or sidewalk leading up to the front door of the party. Decorate the cake table or gift table with a small circle of train track.
-
Make a "hobo lunch" - Place a bandana on a table. Place sandwich, apple, and a cookie unto it. Gather each corner of bandana, tie. Tie to end of wood dowel rod.
-
Decorate box cars- (obtain several 'appliance-size' boxes from grocery and warehouse stores in your area)... Provide markers, crayons, construction paper, safety scissors, and Elmer's glue. Cut out 'wheels' out of black construction paper. Adhere to box to resemble a 'box car'. Allow the children to decorate to their heart's content! Later take photos of their completed works of art!
