Nature's Party Decor- using flowers to decorate your summer party

If you are planning on hosting a party of any sort this summer, you will have instant decor just by filling pots on porches, decks, and patios. I really enjoy putting together my flower pots this time of year every year. They are beautiful to look at, and you have instant decor and style to your yard for any celebration that you may have all summer. Even when it's a last minute BBQ, you are all set!

Putting your flower pots together can actually be very therapeutic. Just follow the rule of thumb: for a medium sized pot use 3 different plants/flowers. ie: a tall flower or a spike, a medium sized bigger flower, and a cascading flower (like a wave petunia).

I like to match my flowers to each other. I just like the look.

You can also create your flower pot arrangement to match an upcoming graduation open house (school colors), or patriotic (red, white, and blue flowers) if you are having a Memorial Day party, 4th of July party, or a Labor Day party. Also for a patriotic party, you can add smaller flags or red, white, and blue pinwheels to your pots.

Also consider planting citronella plants and/or spraying the yard and around the outside of your home before a party.

As a last suggestion:

Any outdoor party wouldn't be complete without smaller flower pots and/or vases on tabletops.

Have a wonderful summer- keep checking in on us for more summertime party ideas and tips for the best summer yet!
